About the event
Halloween is a time of magic, honoring ancestors and coming together with community. This year, we are feeling called to use our magic to rise up and take a stand. To swing the election toward Biden. And to remind ourselves that, no matter the election result, we will keep going and growing for healing and justice. Hosted by Alanna Blecha and Rebecca Shaeffer.
What will we be doing?
Bring photos of your ancestors or political leaders you admire (RBG, anyone??), and food, flowers, candles or anything you'd like to add to a shared altar. We'll have a short discussion about our worries and hopes regarding the election.
There will be two hands-on activities for kids (ages 6-16ish):
- Personalize witchy, political, notecards with stickers and your own message. Attach a candy (or not) and deliver to friends and neighbors on or before election day
- Craft your own witch hat with fabric markers!
We will close with a ritual, calling on our ancestors to protect the integrity of the elections and open the way for justice!
Tickets:
Each family is $10 - this covers the cost of materials!
